Whilst we might be partners of the US in TWOT, the amount that is allocated to defence spending amply demonstrates that we are nowhere near equal partners. We have the same aim. Here the Chancellor-soon-to-be Prime Minister is cutting back on defence expenditure. Soldiers' lives come cheaper than adequate protection and medical care.
Not so much 'Can you spare a dime?'; more like 'Got any gum chum?'
